Building disaster-resistant communities through community-based science


Through place-based knowledge, the researchers are developing a much-needed community-based disaster resilience action toolbox in the form of a website.A grant of $227,000 by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada has been provided to Thompson Rivers University for investigating the unique power of community science and the critical role of community in mitigating natural disasters and hazards.
